Men Around The Prophet Mohammad – S1E18 –Khabbab ibn al-Aratt
Khabab was a slave who was taken in by Om Ammar. He tells her of how he reached to Mecca and became a slave at the hands of a tribe that attacked his village. Om Ammar has sword making lessons arranged for Khabab and eventually opened a blacksmith forge for him to run. Khabab became frustrated with the corrupted ways of the Quraysh and joined the Prophet and his message of the goodness of Allah. The news of his acceptance of Islam enraged Om Ammar. Khabab was captured and tortured by Siba of the Quraysh, along with Om Ammar, but he would not denounce his faith in Islam. Om Ammar would feel uncurable pain in the same way she aided in the torturing of Khabab. He would find resolve however, as he fought with the Prophet in the battle of Badr and defended Islam against those who persecuted him.
